Tentag Aku

I have been doing international development work for over 10 years in the areas of rural livelihoods, institution-building, youth development, and human rights.  I am passionate about community learning and social change, and my technical skills are in adult education, training development, and program design.  Before joining the Rare team in 2008, I was the Director of Programming at the Riecken Foundation, an organization that builds libraries in rural Central America.  There, I oversaw the development and implementation of all programs and staff training in the sixty community libraries in Guatemala and Honduras.   Previously, I worked as a Trainer with Adhar in India, as a Health Educator with Care for the Homeless in New York City, and as a Youth Development Specialist with the Peace Corps in Ecuador.
