Campaign for Forest Preservation/Halimun-Salak National Park, West Java, Java will sustain the Halimun forest ecosystem, home of the Javan Eagle, by reducing the threat of encroachment for agricultural purposes by 2010-10-15. This threat will be reduced because farmers will manage the forest collaboratively and replan their living/farming space which is enabled by the fact that legal advocacy on a new spatial plan will be adopted by the local farmers. We will know that the campaign is having an impact when we observe discussion on the importance of preserving the forest and rearranging community settlements and farmland among the target audience. The target audience will be willing to engage in this new behavior because a Pride campaign will change their opinion of the importance of preserving the forest and agreeing on a spatial plan and knowledge of forest functions and the forest's legal status.

To stop forest encroachment within Halimun-Salak NP – expansion area, Advocacy for Agreement on Land-Use is planning to support zoning designation of the park that incorporates community rights to forest use, which will serve as the barrier removal strategy. The Pride campaign will be used to build support & increase multi-stakeholder participation for collaborative management planning that acknowledges local-use rights and provides input to the zoning designation of the park. Success will be seen as no new forest conversion of land for agriculture within the working site and buy-in from the NP on the recommendation for the designation of a special-use conservation zone within the Park.
