Brooke Sadowsky
Pride Program Manager
Rare
A reformed thug from Poughkeepsie, New York, Brooke made the bizarre decision to attend college at North Carolina State University where she managed to get a decent education, stay sober, and not actually make any friends. Upon returning back home to New York, Brooke pursued a career in advertising, successfully climbing up the long corporate ladder within NY ad agencies, ending her ad agency career at Ogilvy & Mather before joining Rare. Having moved to Arlington, Virginia from New York in August 2007, Brooke often wonders "Where are all the people?" and "How is this place so clean?" When not disgruntled about the friendliness of the neighborhood, Brooke can be found boxing, listening to rap on her prized iTouch, and for the most part, working.
North Carolina State University - B.S. in Business Management/Marketing
I decided that I was tired of "working for the man" and wanted to use my skills for good, not evil.

Pride campaign manager Gaana Balbar from his project site on the Onon River, Mongolia. Gaana is working with local community members to protect the giant Taimen fish.
Building conservation dream team on the ground to save the last of the giant taimen in Mongolia
Just as Rare is uniting a diverse but critical array of partners to address sand storms in China and overfishing in Indonesia, the new Pride model is increasing this approach across the world. The World Wildlife Fund (WWF)-Mongolia is running a Pride campaign to save the taimen, with an all-star cast of partners in the Amur basin region.
Attached is a certificate Gaana will hand out for the best taimen essay written by one of the local school students. Several weeks ago, Gaana asked all local school teachers to administer a taimen essay contest at their school and he has been receiving many wonderful essays from students in all 6 soums. He will now have to select winners and will present the certificates during his March school visits and community launch events.
Taimen buttons for Gaana's campaign are complete. He produced 3 sizes of plastic buttons: large, medium, and small. He will see which size is most popular among children and adults during his March launch events and produce more of those sizes for the remainder of his campaign. He also produced a higher-end small metal pin that is reserved for the top 25 fishermen that WWF has trained in fly-fishing techniques and taimen monitoring (and who are major influencers in the local community) and for local government officials. These are two very important audiences and Gaana wanted to produce a more sophisticated and substantial pin for this group.
