Thanks Anna for spending your precious time compiling the resources. I also appreciated the efforts of the Tubbataha Management Office for trying its best to manage the reefs of Tubbataha and for facing the very challenging part of the MPA management--- the enforcement.

An offshore reef is difficult to manage. We have one offshore MPA (1.5 km), even closer to the shoreline compared to that of Tubbataha.  Our local MPA managers shared that apart from the distance, they are also having trouble with maintaining the marker buoys due to strong current and big waves. Continuous education is needed because fishers would go closer to or even in the MPA if they see no buoys demarcating the area. ---- Anabele
