along with your photos, this really helps give a sense of the scale. I hope it does not impact Ghana's campaign - would the herders look to fishing as a means to supplement income?
This will actually have greater impact on Bogii's campaign, as herders will be tempted to hunt gazelles to replace their lost source of food and/or income. We are also seeing the negative impact in that the harsh winter has now resulted in a breakout of foot-and-mouth disease in the countryside. The district governor in Bogii's site has ordered a 'blackout' on local transportation and countryside activities from 23May - 15June. Luckily Bogii was able to hold her wildlife event this weekend on the 22nd of May, but will need to reschedule her BROP meeting and school visits until late July.
Sounds like a really terrible domino effect. Hopefully the coming summer will bring hope for Mongolia
