Amazing Story: Fishing Club Member Saves Lost Boy

We established six fishing clubs in each Onon River soums, including most active 30 local fishermen. Fishermen are not only working on collect taimen data, they are doing very active on my campaign activities. They work on distributing all campaign materials to other communities. Also, they are changing their behavior in the first than other people.

Zolboo is 20 years old. He is leader of the Dadal soum fishing club. Now Dadal fishing club has 10 fishermen. 29th of last June Zolboo and Altangerel (another fisherman) went to the Onon River for taimen and Amur sturgeon observation, according to WWF mission. This time they went far away from any people and a family. Actually, they came close to the state border, between large forest and mountain.

Next day on the river they started their fishing and observation. When Zolboo caught first taimen and they were very happy released it. Just this moment, suddenly they heard that some small boy’s outcries “Hello, if there any one, help me please, I am lost boy, don’t be scary me.” It was very weird, because it is very remote and wilderness place. When stared to other side of the river, one small boy with a red jacket is standing under the one of big willow trees just on the river bank. Other side of the river is very crowd riparian forest.

This part of the river is very deep, for this reason could cross only by swimming. From that place to lower about half mile there is a shallow place could cross by walking. Zolboo says to the boy, please walk down to shallow part, but boy says that “I cannot walk, my foot is injured.” Then Zolboo take off his clothes and swim cross to get the boy. Zolboo took him on his back and crossed walking back to their side.

This boy’s name is Uranbayar and he is 10 years old. He lost 19th of June. That day he went by horse to herd their horses, but he fall down from the horse. Actually, his home is in the other side of entire ranges in Bayan-Uul soum. Then he came to here by walking whole 11 days through really wild forests, without any food. He also lost his boots when he falls down. He walked about 40 miles through the forest without boots. He cut his shirts branch for rolling his foot. He drinks just water during all lost days. He didn’t want to eat any unknown grasses and plants. Because, he thought that maybe poisons. The boy says that every evening when get dark he saw some wolves. Wolves were close to him. Also, he saw many deer even day time; one animal was really unknown and very big. It was dark and very tall. Zolboo learned this animal is a moose by shown the picture from his camera.

This boy is very smart and lucky. Smart is, because, he survived whole 11 days no food and alone. He met with Zolboo and Altangerel in the remote wilderness. If he didn’t meet with them, he could happen with a serious problem. Zolboo gave him very small food little by little. Also, gave him the plastic taimen button.

Day later they get some family and contacted with boy’s parents. When boy meet with parents says to parents that, I saved by taimen researcher brothers, they give me this beautiful taimen button, I will keep my saver taimen button in my most respectful place.

Ps: This news informed by all channels in Mongolia, also some other international channels.
